"Young, dynamic, energetic - Kevin Tuck and Jim McCarthy are R@TAQUE. Presented in the long running Something
On Saturday Program at the Adelaide Festival Centre these ingenious percussionists have lots of experience
and good rapport with younger audiences. With great audience participation the youngsters were glued to the
performance and a lot of fun and learning was had by all."

Something On Saturdays Programming Executive, Adelaide Festival Centre.
"R@taque's performance at McLaren Vale for Stage 3 of the Tour Down Under was nothing less than spectacular.
Their energetic performance, with the assistance of local school children, challenged the spectacle of the
race and surely was the highlight for many of the spectators and invited sponsors."

Many thanks for coming to the victor harbor folk festival, you guys were excellent, and a good balance of
kids participation plus your own "speckie" performance.

R@taque is the duo formed by Australian percussionists Jim McCarthy and Kevin Tuck. In recent months they have
also featured long-time associate Tim Irrgang.
R@taque is currently performing music from "Acoustic Power Play" in Festivals, corporate and promotional
shows, and any other special events where a high-impact performance feature is desired.
History of R@taque Percussion Duo
Kevin and Jim worked closely together during their formal studies at Adelaide's Elder Conservatorium of
Music. They both completed the Master of Music (Performance) degree in 1997. This period culminated with a
feature concert in which the duo premiered self-composed works to rave reviews.
R@taque's current program was conceived in 2000, and was trialed at the "Tour Down Under" cycle race
event. This was followed by a development period, which included numerous local performances.
2001 saw R@taque become very busy with gigs, starting with being invited back to perform at the "Tour Down
Under". Some of their favorites include: The Ansett cup grand final, Adelaide Festival Centre's "Something
on Saturday's" program, which was held during the Adelaide cabaret festival, The Victor Harbor Folk Festival,
Ceduna Oyster Festival and Art Gallery of SA's family fun day - which has since become a regular gig.
R@taque have since enjoyed a growing interest in their services in the corporate market as well as developing
ongoing relationships with many festivals and special events throuout Australia.
